Introducing Tara Carpenter
Whistling Gardens
Children, Seniors & Family Outdoor Educator/Celebration Assistant

Tara Carpenter has had a love of nature and the outdoors from an early age thanks to growing up on a Norfolk County farm and regularly engaging in wildness camping trips with her family as a child. Having travelled many parts of the world for 17 years extended Tara's knowledge of the natural world and her love for this earth we call home. The most memorable experience of her travels was being a deck hand on a sailing ship exploring the Great Barrier Reef in Australia for 6 years. Now being a mother to a very active, creative, and outdoor loving six year old has inspired Tara to encourage other parents and their families to get outdoors. She is a recent graduate of the Adventure Expeditions and Interpretive Leadership Diploma program at Fanshawe College, Simcoe Campus. During this time she not only received honours but also multiple awards
showcasing her leadership achievements and passion for environmental stewardship. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation. Tara holds certificates in: Wilderness First Responder, Cross Country Skiing, Working on Ice, Introduction to Ice Rescue, Health and Safety, and White Water Rescue Technician. Now Tara's dream of inspiring others to feel the same adoration of nature has come true by being part of the Whistling Gardens Team!

Introducing Holly Carpenter
Whistling Gardens
Junior Outdoor Assistant - In Training

Holly has always been an outside girl. You will find her either mucking around in her outdoor kitchen of sticks, grass and whatever other natural ingredient she can dig up to add to her recipe, cross country skiing down her long country lane to the school bus, or dip netting in the pond for any living creature she can catch on her rural country property. This little girl is a nature lover through and through. Ask her what she wants to be when she grows up…

"I want to be a tagger. A person that travels the world helping wild animals. A wildlife biologist studies wild and endangered animals and helps to protect their habitat. My dream is to be on Wild Kratts!"
